About Attorney Edward Doskey

Edward A. Doskey’s practice is dedicated to representing the injured and disabled in workers’ compensation cases, long-term disability (LTD) insurance denials, ERISA, personal injury and wrongful death. Edward graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Florida, with honors, in 1993, and he received his juris doctor from the Boston College School of Law in 1997. Mr. Doskey began practicing law in Coral Gables with the law firm of Sugarman & Susskind in 1997 where he began his experience as an ERISA and wage and hour Trial lawyer. Before joining this law firm, Edward was a partner at Matusek, McKnight, Poluse, Cangro and Doskey, P.A., in St. Petersburg, Florida where he did workers’ compensation insurance defense and claimants’ litigation and began his own Social Security claimants practice. Edward then practiced as a partner with the Kimsey Law Group in Tampa, Florida where he litigated and tried cases for plaintiffs and  in the areas of personal injury, long term disability, ERISA, and Social Security disability. For the past sixteen years Edward has devoted most of his practice to litigating disability and injury cases. He has represented hundreds of disabled clients in their appeals before the Social Security Administration and in disputes with insurance companies over denied private long-term disability (LTD) insurance payments, ERISA claims and denied life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) claims. Edward has extensive experience litigating against insurance companies, whether the disability insurance policy was purchased individually or as part of an employer-sponsored group plan governed by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).
